Jacksonville (Fla.) Atlantic Coast High School wide receiver David Gardner has received five scholarship offers this spring. The latest offer for the 6-foot-2 and 175-pound junior came from Maryland.

Jacksonville (Fla.) Atlantic Coast High School wide receiver prospect David Gardner continues to pick up scholarship offers and interest this spring. The 6-foot-2 and 175-pound receiver has five offers as high schools in the state of Florida reach the halfway point of the spring practice period.

"Right now recruiting is going pretty good. A lot of offers are starting to roll in. My offers right now are UAB, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan and FIU. I also have an offer from Maryland," said Gardner.

The junior says he has been in contact with three of those programs quite regularly.

"Right now I am hearing from a lot of schools. The one's I hear from the most are UAB, Cincinnati and Maryland. What I like about all three programs is that they throw the ball," explained Gardner of his interest in the trio of schools.

Gardner wants to be regarded as a well-rounded player and teammate. He says he is focused on improving in all aspects of his game on the field and as a leader off the field.

"I have speed, run excellent routes, I have great hands and I will block. I don't mind going downfield and blocking. I just want to be an all-around guy," said Gardner of his desire to be a accomplished receiver and leader.

The rising senior also knows what he is looking for in a future college home off the field.

"I want to make sure I get a great education, you know the books always come first. Also I want a great city where there is always something to do and a family first environment," answered Gardner when asked what qualities he was looking for in a college home.
