"It was really good to get the offer," said the 6-foot, 215-pound Yancey. "My uncle (David Yancey) played there and I grew up a Tennessee fan. When I was little, my granddad used to take me down there for games."
Yancey's last trip to Knoxville was last summer.
"I went to their camp last July," he said. "I really enjoyed everything, but the main thing that stuck out was the stadium."
Other schools are showing interest in the Lake Taylor star.
In regards to camps this summer, Yancey plans to go to Virginia Tech and back to Tennessee.
After a breakout junior season, he is looking forward to his senior campaign.
"I'm going to try to play better than I did last year," Yancey said. "Team-wise, we want to win a state championship. We're going to have to work hard and stay focused."
