Linebacker taking his time

New Orleans Warren Easton Senior 2015 outside linebacker Arthur McGinnis is one of the best players in the country and getting recruited as such. Read on for his thoughts on his recruitment and more.

New Orleans Warren Easton Senior 2015 outside linebacker Arthur McGinnis is one the best players in the country and his numbers last season certainly back that up.

"I had a great season," McGinnis said. "I had 14 sacks, a ton of tackles, four forced fumbles and a punt block.

"I feel like I played even better than the numbers indicate. I was in the backfield a lot of the time and being able to get in on special teams was fun as well."

Not surprisingly, McGinnis is being recruited by schools from all over the country.

"I'm getting interest and offers from everywhere," he said. "Coaches seem to like my size and my explosion off the snap. I also have played pretty well against good schools and that is definitely a good thing."

Although it won't be easy, Arizona is trying to interest McGinnis.

"They've definitely been in contact with me," he said. "They love my game. They think I can be a designated pass rusher and rush end off the edge. I could tell they had thought about how to use me."

There will be a number of factors that will go into McGinnis' decision making process.

"I need to like the coaches and I have to enjoy being around everyone, because I will be there for at least four years," McGinnis said. "If possible, I would also like to play in a 3-4 scheme."

With so many attractive options available, McGinnis plans on taking his time with the recruiting process.

"I'm not naming a list of leaders or anything like that because I really don't have one, but I think most the schools that like me understand that," he said.

"In the next few weeks I'm going to look at visits and stuff like that. I will probably decide after the season."
