On Friday morning, Swinney announced in front of family, friends, coaches, teammates, and media that he is an Ole Miss Rebel.
"I made up my mind earlier this week when me and my mom sat down and talked about the facts and where I felt most comfortable," said Swinney. "The decision was very tough, but it came down to where I felt most comfortable."
The Ole Miss staff made the 5-foot-10, 190 pound back a priority a longtime ago and it paid off. Swinney has visited Oxford numerous times, he has been in regular contact with the Rebel coaches and in the end, he couldn't see himself anywhere else.
"I just had that family vibe with Ole Miss," said Swinney, "I can see myself being comfortable away from football there. I just like how the coaches there are down to earth."
The No. 19 running back in the country has yet to decide if he will visit any other schools or only visit Ole Miss from here on out, but his commitment is strong, and he is ready to become another member of the Ole Miss staff working the phones.
"I look forward to getting my recruiting skills on now," said Swinney. "It is kind of sad to put the recruiting process behind me, but I am ready to recruit."
