Georgia has recruited Natrez Patrick for well over a year and it paid off Friday night when he committed to the Dawgs. Patrick is a highly sought after defensive end and Scout breaks down the new UGA commit here…

Ranking on Scout:
| No. 11 RB | No. 7 in Ga. | No. 76 Overall
Recruiting: It came down to three in the SEC and Georgia won out. It is close to home, the Dawgs offered early in the process, and Patrick made his pledge to UGA public Friday night.
Scouting Report: Patrick is a very athletic defensive end with a good mix of power and speed. He gets off the ball well and his speed to the ball is a strong point. He closes well, he plays with a high motor, and he attacks from the inside and the outside. He is stronger than some may think. He shows good balance when engaged and he can support the run on the edge, but he needs to improve his hand action to become more effective here.
Where Patrick really excels is rushing the passer and getting after the quarterback. He gets off the ball with a quick first step and his pad level is solid although he can pop up and play high at times. He needs to work his hands more and use his length to his advantage as well.
Overall, Patrick is a prospect that could play with his hand in the dirt or standing up on the next level. He has a lot of natural athleticism and about a year ago, hybrid would have been the position I projected him at, but he has added 25 pounds, he is closing in on 250 pounds, he looks more and more like a true end. He plays hard, he plays with aggression, and he goes hard play after play. As he develops his technique, he will only get better.
