Illinois Notebook

There was plenty of recruiting news in the state of Illinois in the past week, check out a snapshot of it below.

Huff Twins

It's not common for brothers to get the opportunity to play together at the next level, but that's exactly what Bolingbrook junior twins Jacob and Julian Huff have the chance to do.

Jacob, a defensive back, and Julian, a linebacker, have both added offers from Central Michigan, Illinois State, Toledo and most recently Minnesota

"I was very excited, alone it's a great feeling to know that someone is interested in you, especially when it is such a high caliber program," Julian said.

The Gophers extended an offer to the twins as somewhat of a surprise — which definitely ended up being a delight.

"Coach Kill said he had seen my film and my family," Jacob said. "Also he said that he saw what type of guy I was and the character that I had. Then finally he said he was going to talk to their defensive coordinator, but he didn't see what was stopping me from getting an offer from Minnesota,  that was when I kind of knew that I would get the offer."

Reams adding looks

Junior tight end Caleb Reams of Warren Township added another offer, from Syracuse, despite the fact that he is currently committed to Western Michigan.

Syracuse adds to his offer list on top of Illinois, Wake Forest, Toledo and others mostly joining after he committed. Plus, the Orange are interested in the 6-foot-3, 235 pound prospect on the other side of the ball.

"I got an offer from Syracuse as a defensive end," Reams said. "I found out when I called Coach Lester. Truthfully I need to learn more about Syracuse."

Milan Adds Offers

With thirteen offers under his belt, Chicago Al Raby defensive lineman Jamal Milan has seen his recruitment take off since the evaluation period began.

"I have offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Syracuse, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ball State, New Mexico, Maryland, Miami Ohio, Bowling Green, and Minnesota," Milan said.

Two of the most recent offers were from Minnesota and Maryland. And for both schools the coaching staffs stand out to Milan.
