Myers Talks New Offers & More

As the top offensive lineman out of Ohio in the 2017 recruiting class, Josh Myers continues to add scholarship offers and plans on making a few summer visits.

It is hard to imagine how the rest of the recruiting process will go for Miamisburg (Ohio) freshman offensive lineman Josh Myers. Having already added offers from Ohio State, Michigan and Tennessee to name a few, Myers continues to add offers and interest from across the country.

"I've added scholarship offers from Penn State, Purdue, West Virginia, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Bowling Green," said Myers. "Coach (Marcus) Freeman stopped by school one day and I got a chance to talk with him. He said they were offering me so that was exciting. He's a nice guy and it was nice to meet him.

"Coach (Herb) Hand came from Penn State and I got a chance to talk with him. He's an awesome dude and really a nice guy."

Despite the continued high interest, Myers is trying to stay level headed. "It's been kind of crazy for me," he said. "But I don't feel any different. As I said when I got my first offer, it hasn't really hit home yet but it's been great meeting all of these coaches and visiting all of these schools.

"All of the offers give me a great feeling, however, I just try and stay humble and keep working as I don't want to get too into myself."

While Myers added the new offers it was the schools that didn't offer him that could push his recruitment to another level.

"Michigan State and Alabama both came in to school," he said.

"I've not been to Michigan State before but I'm excited to meet their coaching staff as I've heard so many good things about Coach (Mark) Dantonio. Because I've heard so many good things about him and everyone says it's all true, I'm excited just to go up and meet him and his staff.

"Alabama coach Bobby Williams came and saw me and we talked a little bit. He said they were going to send their offensive line coach back in, but they never did. They did apologize for it and said they are recruiting 2015 guys hard right now. So I understand that. They want me to visit and I'm going to do that.

"Notre Dame was also going to visit but their flight got cancelled. Coach (Mike) Elston from Notre Dame was going to come in but never did. But I spoke with him on the phone and we talked about Notre Dame in general and had a lot of small talk.

"He said they really want me to visit so I'm going to be calling them in the next few weeks or so to figure all of it out."

With all the early offers, Myers is uncertain about working at any camps.

"I'm not for sure if I'm attending any camps this summer," he said. "But I am planning some visits as I know I'm probably going to go to Michigan, Tennessee and Ohio State for sure. I'm also sure I'm going to go to Michigan State, Alabama and Notre Dame here in the next few weeks."
