The summer continues to heat up for Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain defensive back Jeffery Christian as he added a new offer and continues to wait on a few others.
"I've been offered by Purdue, but not North Carolina State," said Christian. "I don't know who said I was offered by North Carolina State, but they have not offered. They are talking with me and I think they might be offering me soon.
"I was offered by Purdue and that one kind of surprised me as they had sent me an email and were trying to get me to attend their camp. Then I got an email and had a message to call them so I was kind of confused.
"When I called Coach (Greg) Hudson, I wasn't sure if they had offered me or not, but they had."
Christian is already feeling some comfort with the Boilermakers defensive coordinator.
"Coach Hudson is a Cincinnati guy," he said. "We were talking about Deer Park and other things about Cincinnati so it was cool. I wasn't expecting their offer this early, but I felt once I got the offer from Minnesota other schools might follow."
With plans to attend a few camps in the coming weeks, Christian is putting a great deal of focus on the first camp he'll attend.
"I've been talking with Coach (Kerry) Coombs at Ohio State and I'm hearing they are going to be looking at two defensive backs at their camp and that I'm one of them. So I'm excited to go up to camp on June 8th and show them what I can do.
"I'm also hearing from Michigan a lot and the want me to come to their camp as they are back in the business for a defensive back after one decommitted. So I'm going there and also to camp at Cincinnati.
