Stone Continues Working

Much has changed for Lindell Stone over the past year. Monday night, Stone was at the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp in Columbus, Ohio and spoke with about his summer plans and the changes he's seen the past year.

A lot has changed for Class of 2017 quarterback Lindell Stone since last summer.

After making recruiting headlines by earning an offer from UCLA prior to his freshman year of high school, Stone, a native of Texas, turned heads at the Sound Mind Sound Body Camp in Michigan.

Much has changed except when it comes from throwing the football and competing.

"It was really good to be out here and enjoying the competition," said Stone. "This was my first camp as I just got out of school. So it was great seeing all these other quarterbacks around here and being able to compete and get back on the field throwing the ball. It was a fun day.

"This past year I went to a college prep school in Virginia, so I stayed in a dorm and that is a much different situation from the normal high school athlete. So I've definitely learned a lot at Woodberry Forest and I'm really enjoying it."

Even with the change of scenery, Stone continues to earn attention but has also learned a lot.

"Recruiting has been awesome," he said. "I learned from all the seniors on my team this past year and being able to win a state championship and trying to repeat this year is exciting.

"It's definitely a different situation, being away from your family the whole time is ridiculous, but for the long run, it was the best thing for me as it's a great school with great people."

Stone plans on returning to Sound Mind Sound Body next week along with visits to Notre Dame and Stanford this summer.
