With a dad and now two brothers having gone through the recruiting process, Tyler Tupa was ready to work this summer at a few camps and hopefully earn his first scholarship offer. Wednesday, Tupa learned he impressed at his first camp and earned an offer from Bowling Green.
"Bowling Green offered me today," said an excited Tupa. "I'm being recruited by Coach (Tom) Kaufman and attended their satellite camp in Bedford yesterday."
Listed as a safety prospect by Scout.com, Tupa said the Falcons have other plans for his future at this time.
"They are recruiting me as a wide receiver," he said. "I've not visited their campus but hope to go to a game or two this year as I love the coaching staff."
The past few months several programs have visited to learn more about the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder.
"I've talked with a couple of schools and some have come in to see me and talk with my coach," he said. "Ohio State, Michigan and Northwestern along with some Mid American Conference schools have stopped at school.
"I was a little surprised," he said. "My brothers didn't get their offers until later. But I'm really excited the offer was from BG as they had a good camp and seem to love me."
