"I really like the area and it's close to home," Miner said. "I have been recently talking to all the coaches and just knew that FAU was the best for me. They like me at the middle linebacker position and that's where I am most comfortable. I will play whatever but most prefer the inside. I know FAU is a place where I can also play early."
Miner, 6-foot-4, 206-pounds, says he will being some versatility and big hitter to the Owls defense.
"I am a linebacker that can tackle and really hit," Miner said. "I am one of the biggest hitters in this area and from this state. I can play on the outside and at strong safety too. One of my best attributes is my athleticism. I am also explosive out there."
Miner joins an already impressive first class for new head coach Charlie Partridge. Some of their commitments include running back Jordan Scarlett (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) and quarterback Daniel Parr (Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer) Daniel Parr.
"This 2015 recruiting class we are calling it the FAU Fab '15," Miner said. "It's exciting to be a part of the first class and turning things around here. This is a first year staff and look at what they are already doing. I am pretty sure that we will be good for a long time."
