Eichenberg Looking At Three

Cleveland St. Ignatius rising junior offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg impressed Sunday at Ohio State's camp. Eichenberg talked about his recruitment after his day was completed.

Ohio State held their first summer camp session this past Sunday, and there were several outstanding performers on hand.

Cleveland St. Ignatius rising junior offensive tackle Liam Eichenberg (6-foot-5, 275-pounds) stood out as one of the top offensive line prospects.

"Things went well in camp and we did a lot of the basic offensive line stuff," Eichenberg stated. "I thought I did really well, and I did well on run blocking. My pass blocking wasn't as good and I kicked out too fast a few times."

"Nothing really stood out today, and it was just the normal camp to me," he added. "I asked Coach (Ed) Warriner about certain things I was doing, and he said my footwork was fine."

Eichenberg has already put together an impressive offer list even though he still has two seasons of high school football remaining.

"I would say Ohio State, Notre Dame and Michigan are my top three right now," he explained. "With Ohio State, it's obviously my home state and I love Coach (Urban) Meyer. It just feels like home for me when I'm here, and I will be coming back here again this summer to visit."

"Michigan has a great program, and (assistant coach) Greg Mattison is a great guy," he stressed. "It feels like family up there, and it's a lot like Ignatius in that regard. I will be at Michigan's camp on June 17."

"Notre Dame is just a great campus overall, and I love their offensive line coach, who I think is one of the best in the nation," Eichenberg said. "I will be going there on June 21."

There is no set timeframe for making his decision, and Eichenberg said he is in no hurry.

"I will probably make my decision after my junior year is over," he said. "It will definitely before my senior season begins."
