OG Waddell Has Schools Showing Interest

Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon High School class of 2016 offensive guard prospect William Waddell, 6-foot-2 and 305-pounds, is on the radar of a handful of FBS programs this summer. The rising senior will camp with Florida International and Miami (Fla.) later this month.

Tallahassee (Fla.) Leon High School class of 2016 offensive guard prospect William Waddell continues to add schools showing interest coming out of last month's spring practice period in the state of Florida. The 6-foot-2 and 305-pound underclassman plans to attend several camps this summer in search of his first scholarship offer.

"Spring went pretty good for me. I have gotten a lot of letters from Duke, Purdue, Arizona and Utah. Purdue wrote me a letter and said they want me to come to camp with them," said Waddell of the schools showing interest in him.

The rising junior also plans to camp with a couple of in-state programs this summer.

"I am going to camp with Florida International and Miami (Fla.). East Carolina has shown some interest too," Waddell said.

Cincinnati, Troy and Nebraska have also expressed interest in the underclassman according to Leon offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Doug Waddell.

"I felt like I got stronger, learned more about actually playing the game and got faster this spring. I think my quickness off the ball and my run-blocking are the strengths of my game right now. I need to work on my pass-blocking and my feet," said Waddell on the pro's and con's of his game.
