The spring evaluation period has ended, but that's not stopping college programs from continuing their offer sprees in the Lone Star State.
I recapped the recent recruiting success of a couple of programs -- Louisiana Tech and SMU -- earlier this week. Well, New Mexico looks like it's trying to join those ranks as we've tracked down 10 offers in Texas since Friday.
Here's a look at the players from within the state borders that we know have gotten a New Mexico offer during the past five days:
June 10 -- Johnny Durham, 2015 DB, Aledo: the first FBS offer arrived Tuesday for Durham, who helped Aledo win a 2013 state championship, the Bearcats' fourth crown in five seasons.
June 10 -- Austin Corbett, 2015 LB, Plano East: Corbett (pictured above) continues to get more and more popular. New Mexico offered him Tuesday to give the 6-foot-3 1/2, 215-pound linebacker five FBS offers.
June 10 -- L.G. Williams, 2015 QB, Cibolo Steele: expect plenty more offers for this signal caller, who now has FBS-level offers from the Lobos, Army, Navy, Texas State, and UTSA, as well as an FCS offer from Sam Houston State.
June 11 -- Willie Sykes, 2015 CB, Spring: Sykes was the first of two New Mexico offers we tracked in Texas on Wednesday. He now has five FBS offers, including Fresno State, Minnesota, Southern Mississippi, and Utah.
June 11 -- Javon Thomas, 2015 RB, Texarkana Texas High: the 6-foot-2 1/2, 211-pound Thomas committed to Tulsa earlier in the day Wednesday, but that didn't stop New Mexico from giving him his sixth FBS offer. Expect more for the sleeper tailback.
