Local RB Gets Huge Offer

ATHENS - The Mark Richt Camp 7v7 went pretty good for Clarke Central on Thursday.

After all, the Gladiators beat Lanier to win the seven-on-seven event. But the good news didn't stop there as Clarke Central 2016 RB JaQua Daniel was offered a scholarship by the Bulldogs after the camp concluded.

The offer was not a huge surprise because Daniel has been surging of late. He was named one of the top ten players at the June 4th MVP Camp in Gwinnett County.

"He has a nice initial burst and he is fluid for a back of his size," said Scout.com recruiting analyst Chad Simmons. "He also showed time after time that he can receive the ball well."

The scholarship offer is significant, too, in that Daniel is thought to have been the first prospect offered a scholarship to Georgia since Damien Gary signed with the Bulldogs in 1999. The NCAA doesn't officially track scholarship offers, however.
