"I came to this camp because the SEC is big-time football and I spoke with (MSU offensive line) Coach (John) Hevesy, who is recruiting me, and he asked me if I was coming to their camp," said Barr. "I was already talking about it before he asked so we made it happen. He likes what I do in practice but I wanted to come here and show him a little bit more."
Barr came away impressed with Hevesy's coaching style.
"I really like how he coaches," said Barr. "Everything has to be perfect even with the little things. In the game you have to have the little things perfect, too. That builds up into a big machine and that's what the O-line has to be."
Not only was he impressed with Hevesy but he also came away impressed with Mississippi State.
"It is beautiful," said Barr. "The buildings are new. The facilities are awesome. The weight room is awesome. We did a tour ride of the campus and it is beautiful, the trees, the grass. The buildings are new. I love (Coach Hevesy). He's straight-forward and doesn't beat around the bush."
Mississippi State is one of several colleges that he will be visiting this summer.
"I have been to TCU, UNT (North Texas), Memphis, we were here (at MSU), we are going to stop by Ole Miss on the way, then we are going to Arkansas State,"said Barr. "I'm not sure where else that I am going this summer."
Several colleges are recruiting the talented offensive lineman.
"I have six offers, Fresno State, Nevada, Air Force, Eastern Michigan, Arkansas State and UNT," said Barr. "I also have Mississippi State, TCU, K-State and Colorado showing interest in me."
