Reynolds commits to WKU

6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive lineman is the first commitment for WKU in the 2015 class.

Western Kentucky's first commitment in the 2015 class is one they've had their eye on for a while.

But interestingly enough, he's had his eye on them too.

Madisonville offensive lineman Cullen Reynolds announced his commitment to WKU on Monday, over an offer from Murray State and interest from Kentucky and Louisville.

"Me and my family just talked about it over the weekend," Reynolds said. "We just felt like it was the right fit for me.

"Coach (Jeff) Brohm had called me a couple days before camp, and just told me to perform well, he said they were ready to make me a part of the team. So he told me to bring all I had at the camp, I did, and they offered.

"Then today I called Coach (Neil) Calloway, and then he got Coach Brohm in the room. We talked about it, and I told them I was ready to be a Topper. They were pretty happy about it, they were excited.

"I've been attending games there since I was little. It's a dream come true."

Listed at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, his cousin--Patrick Reynolds--played defensive end for WKU's (FCS) national championship team in 2002.

Coincidentally, Patrick's brother started at middle linebacker for Ohio State in 2002, also winning a (BCS) national championship.

Reynolds plays center for Madisonville, but projects to play either guard or center for the Toppers.

He's the first commit for WKU in the 2015 class, but WKUInsider sources indicate the commitment ball just started rolling for the Tops tonight.
