Baber excited by latest Pac 12 offer

Palmdale (Calif.) defensive back Dameon Baber was one of the standouts at the recent Oregon State camp and landed an offer from the Beavers following the event.

Dameon Baber was one of the top players in attendance at the Get It Done Sports Camp over the weekend coached by the Oregon State coaching staff. The talented cover corner had a strong showing, blanketing every receiver he went up against.

"The camp was great and I learned a lot from the coaches," Baber said. "They taught me some new techniques that I'm going to use when I get back with my team. I really liked working with Coach Perry a lot and after the camp, he told me to call him up.

"He said they're not able to offer players on site after a camp so I called on my way home and he told I had a scholarship offer. I was very excited and I have a lot of interest in Oregon State right now. It's a great school, one of my top schools for sure and hopefully I can get out there and visit this summer."

Arizona and Nevada offered Baber early in the process and the corner is setting up his summer camp plans.

"USC is showing interest and I'm going to camp with them and UCLA," Baber said. "I might also do Colorado and Washington camps as well. Right now, I'm thinking of committing early, sometime in the summer before our season gets here.

"I'm not ready yet, I want to do a few more camps and check out all my options first. Oregon State is definitely high on my list right now though and having an offer from them means a lot to me. They're recruiting me the hardest and like I said, I'm very interested as well."
