Gilliam Recaps Spartan Camp Experience

Michigan State has enjoyed great success with players from Southwest Ohio and one 2016 prospect hopes to add his name to that list.

With two current Dayton, Ohio defensive backs on this season's Michigan State roster, 2016 defensive back Tobias Gilliam hopes to add his name to the list of offered players soon following his camp experience.

"At Michigan State, I worked out in front of Coach (Mark) Dantonio and Coach (Harlon) Barnett the whole time," said Gilliam. "Me and a couple of other prospect did drills in front of the head coach the whole time and they said they'll be watching the film this week as they'll be working on the guys in the 2015 class first, but they said I'm at the top of their 2016 board. So I'm expecting an offer from them too."

Gilliam was surprised by what he saw while on campus.

"That was the first time I'd been up there," he said. "I loved their facilities and it felt like home there. I was surprised by how beautiful and elegant it was there. It was really nice there."

What would an offer from the Spartans mean to Gilliam?

"An offer from Michigan State would be big," he said. "I know a couple of guys like Vayante Copeland and R.J. Williamson. They have been telling me all about Michigan State and how it's a good place. I also like Coach Barnett as he's a cool guy and keeps things real."
