Linebacker making a plan

Arthur McGinnis is one of the top linebackers in the country and Arizona is treating him as such. Read on for a closer look at his recruitment, including what he thinks of the Wildcats.

New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton Senior 2015 outside linebacker Arthur McGinnis looks every bit the part of a great defender and he is being recruited as such.

Rich Rodriguez has done a solid job of recruiting the state of Louisiana and is all in on McGinnis.

Rodriguez also runs a system similar to what McGinnis believes is his best fit.

"I'm looking at schools that run a 3-4 defense or an odd front," McGinnis said. "I feel that is the system that can best utilize my skills.

"I'm best when I'm in attack mode and I think I can best do that from this defense. I think I'm strong enough to hold the edge, but when I can get after the quarterback from the linebacker position I can be especially good."

Not surprisingly, most of the big-name schools in the country are after McGinnis.

"I have a lot of really good offers and I'm looking at everybody," he said. "I've gone to Ole Miss, but that's it.

"I have no favorites or a list. I want to be able to narrow my list down to ten here pretty soon. That's the next step."

Arizona is doing its best to ensure a place in McGinnis' top ten.

"Coach Magee is recruiting me," McGinnis said. "He's a good dude. He has a lot of interesting things to say and he's working on trying to get me down there for a visit.

"We talk often and I'm guessing I will know what the plan is here soon."

As of now, McGinnis is planning to take his time with a decision.

"I'm not going to make any decision until after the season," he said. "There are a lot of things I have to get figured out."
