Dorris, from Shadyside High School in Shadyside, Ohio, is a 3-star recruit by Scout.com and the No. 30 ranked tight end in the nation. He's the third commit in this class from the state of Ohio joining Simon Stepaniak and Hunter Littlejohn.
Scout.com national analyst Simone Scott caught up with the 6-5, 220-pound rising senior Monday night to get his reaction.
"Indiana offered me," Dorris told Scott Monday night. "It wasn't really a surprise because we've been in contact for a while. The coaches talked about how they wanted to really evaluate me and that they were going to offer me. They said they wouldn't have offered unless it was committable."
With his committable offer in hand, Dorris went ahead and accepted.
"I am committed to Indiana," said Dorris. "It's what's in my heart. I don't want to be anywhere else. Coach (Kevin) Wilson was the one that I talked to. He was fired up," he said.
The tight end says he could not be more excited about his future in Bloomington.
"I love everything about them,'' Dorris said. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I absolutely love the campus. There's not a thing that I'm not looking forward to.''
Dorris chose the Hoosiers over offers from Air Force, Buffalo, Kent State, Marshall, Miami of Ohio, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan. He had also been getting a great deal of interest from Minnesota.
