Hamilton Flips To Pitt

DaVon Hamilton is Pitt's 11th 2015 verbal commit. He joins fellow Ohio native Kraig Howe on the defensive line.

Paul Chryst received more good news on Tuesday, as Pickerington Central (OH) defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton flipped his commitment from Ohio, to Pittsburgh.

Hamilton came in for Pitt's first prospect camp on June 6. Even then, he was selected after the camp to go up against a couple of the top offensive linemen that day--Tyler Hudanick and Ryan Podgorski.

Pitt offered after that camp performance, and Hamilton came back for another unofficial visit, before committing to the Panthers today.

Hamilton joins Archbishop Alter (OH) standout Kraig Howe at defensive tackle. Also on defense, Pitt has a commit from Altoona (PA) linebacker Kevin Givens, Hallendale (FL) corner Malik Henderson, and Quaker Valley corner Dane Jackson, who also committed on Tuesday.

Pitt has 11 commits for its 2015, including eight that have committed this month.

Stay tuned for more on Hamilton's decision to join the Panthers.
