Oladokun Sees Steady Improvement

One quarterback in Hillsborough County that's known for his mistake free football and pinpoint accuracy is Chris Oladokun, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound quarterback out of Tampa (Fla.) Alonso High School with a pair of early scholarship offers, including one from South Florida.

One of the catalysts behind Unsigned Preps impressive run to the national championship game at the fourth-annual Bradenton (Fla.) IMG 7-on-7 Tournament over the weekend was Chris Oladokun. The rising junior out of Tampa (Fla.) Alonso displayed pinpoint accuracy and got the ball out of his hands in a hurry, something that's coveted in 7-on-7.

"I've improved a lot on being a better leader in the weight room, as well as out in these 7-on-7 tournaments," Oladokun said. "Also, I've gotten way better with my reads and getting the ball out of my hands quicker."

In a 5-5 season for the Ravens in 2013, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound quarterback completed 105-of-220 passes for 2,003 yards, with 23 touchdowns to just three interceptions on the year, resulting in offseason offers from Toledo and South Florida.

"I'd love to go up to USF soon to check out their facilities and campus," Oladokun said. "I've talked to (quarterbacks) coach (David) Reaves a couple of times and they love that I'm always ready to throw with a quick release and that I have good footwork."

Right now, Oladokun is just enjoying the recruiting process and giving all of his college suitors a fair shot at recruiting and evaluating him during his upcoming junior year.

"Right now, I don't have a leader," Oladokun said. "All of the schools I've been to and have offers from are all on an even playing field. I'm getting some interest from a whole bunch of schools. I'm just waiting to see what happens during my upcoming season and I'll go from there."
