A: Ofodile is a very good receiver with size. I feel like he is one that people under appreciate a tad on the national scale. He runs good routes, blocks, but most importantly to me he shows a unique ability to make adjustments and reads on the ball, out positioning defensive backs for jump balls, showing big play ability. Strong hands as well. Just an all-around asset at the position.
A: I think it is a bit early to be concerned at this point. Baylor still has a nice commit list and is a program that will perform well enough on the field to keep recruits interests. One thing that you have to bear in mind is that the Bears are recruiting on an entirely different level than they were five or six years ago even, they are after and nailing down commitments from prospects that the most major national level schools are targeting. These are battles until the name is on the dotted line, you win some and you lose some. They were winners in some of these battles in last year's cycle with guys like KD Cannon and Davion Hall.
Q: UCLA has seemed to target a number of Texas prospects. Who do you feel like they have a good shot with?
A: This is a tough question. Because there are number of guys interested. But if I had to pick right now I guess I would say Aledo wide receiver Ryan Newsome is one that is high up that list. He recently named UCLA in his final five. But also bear in mind that five-star Malik Jefferson recently set up his official visit for the Stanford game. May be tough to pull him out of state, but that is a big step in the right direction. I think UCLA is one of the most interesting offers on the list of DeSoto defensive tackle Bryce English. Not from Texas, but UCLA has also done great work with Josh Wariboko.
Q: Who is your pick in the Midlothian SQT this weekend?
A: Here are the eight teams in pools A&B: Midlothian, Waxahachie, Red Oak, Tyler Lee, FW South Hills FW Paschal, Forney, Arlington Bowie of that grouping I like Bowie, but they are already qualified, so I am going to pick the home team of Midlothian, but will be expecting anything. The C&D pools are stacked with 7v7 talent: Arlington Sam Houston, DeSoto, Mansfield Summit, Highland Park, North Crowley, Rockwall, Arlington Lamar, Keller. There are some good teams, but the game to decide should be the pool match-up between DeSoto and Highland Park to be the decider in an entertaining clash. The winner likely gets Arlington Lamar in the semis, which is another high-powered 7v7 potential tilt. Lamar would have a lot on the line in that contest as it is facing its first year of non-qualification. I am bit of a traditionalist, but still I am going with HP.
