Buford Reflects on U-M Camp Performance

Southfield (Mich.) 2015 three-star cornerback Ray Buford talks Michigan and more.

Ray Buford had a busy spring.

The Southfield (Mich.) 2015 three-star cornerback participated in Sound Mind, Sound Body football camp and was a one-day camper at Michigan, and came away impressed with his overall performance.

"I think I have been doing pretty good," Buford said. "I did good at Sound Mind, Sound Body [football camp]. I thought I did pretty good at Michigan. "They said I have the natural ability," Buford said on his talks with the Michigan coaches. "They said I can do some things they look for in a cornerback."

Despite his strong performance at U-M, Buford says the Wolverines need to see more on the field this fall before a possible offer is made.

"What really hurt me was missing my whole entire junior season [due to injury]," Buford said. "That really hurt me. So they see me compete in camps, but they don't know if I can do it in pads, too. Where they know I can do it in pads. But they want to see me do it. Soon as I prove myself my senior year, I'll be fine."

Currently, Buford holds notable offers from Boston College, Wake Forest and Toledo, to name a few. He also camped at Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State this summer. He says he might head back to OSU for their Friday Night Light camp later this summer.

At 6-foot, 189-pounds, the soon to be senior says he planning on having a huge final campaign in high school.

"I just trying to prove to everybody that we are as good as we look on paper," Buford said. "So just trying to get into the state championship. Just the basic stuff that you got to do."
