Hill cuts his list to ten

Trevon Hill is getting closer to making his college decision. Recently, the 2015 Virginia Beach (Va.) Salem defensive end narrowed his list to ten schools. He gave Scout.com the latest.

Trevon Hills is down to ten schools.

In no particular order, the 6-foot-4, 212-pound Hill is down to Clemson, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

"I just felt like these ten teams were the best for me and my family," he said. "I think that I would have a chance to play early at these schools, too, and most of them are close to home."

His most recent visit was last weekend.

"I went to North Carolina for Fedora's Freak Show," Hill said. "The energy was crazy out there. The coaches were intense and energized – and that's what I like. My favorite parts were the one-on-ones and the dodge ball.

"I had a chance to talk to (linebackers) coach (Ron) West, (wide receivers) coach (Gunter) Brewer, (defensive line) coach (Keith) Gilmore and coach (Larry) Fedora and they told me that I was their No. 1 guy on their board at the bandit position. The visit definitely helped North Carolina."

What's next for Hill?

"Most likely, I'm going to Virginia Tech this Sunday," he said. "I'm not sure if I want to visit anywhere else after that before I decide.

"Right after the Virginia Tech visit, I'm going to narrow it to four schools. I'm not going to name any schools yet, but I'll say the schools closer to home are in good shape. I'll probably make my decision in the next couple of weeks."

Certain factors will help him make his decision.

"It's going to come down to my relationship with the coaches, education and social life at the school," Hill said.
