Kane set for NW visit

Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha defensive back Dylan Kane is one of the top safeties in the West region and will check out one of his favorites in late July.

Dylan Kane is a big, physical defensive back and one of the top safety prospects in the West. He opened our eyes at the NIKE Camp in Oregon two years ago and had another strong showing at the NIKE Camp in Oakland this past May.

Kane tested very well running a 4.67-40 (electronic), a 4.03 shuttle and jumped 33" in the vertical and his 110.55 SPARQ Rating was in the top 5 of the entire camp. He looked comfortable in coverage during the half-skelly period and fluid in the one on one drills.

On the recruiting front, Kane recently landed three new offers and will take an unofficial visit to the NW next month.

"Oregon, Oregon State and Colorado are my most recent offers," Kane said. "Oregon and Oregon State actually offered a few weeks ago but I didn't put it out there. Colorado just offered me last week and I have interest in all these schools.

"I'm going to visit Oregon in late July and I've always followed them. They have a great program and recruit Hawaii pretty heavily. All three schools came out to see me in the spring so I knew they were interested but it was still great to get the offer and make it official."

There is some speculation that if the visit to Oregon goes well for Kane, he could make an early decision but the athlete said he has no timetable right now.

"I could commit in the summer or take my trips during the season," Kane said. "I really don't have any idea right now when I'll decide, I'm just playing it by ear right now. When I know and it feels good, I'll go ahead and do it, I won't drag it out but right now, I have no idea."
