The Opening: Previewing Rashan Gary is profiling each member from the East Region heading to The Opening next week at Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and in this installment we look at five-star class of 2016 defensive tackle Rashan Gary.

Rashan Gary

Position: Defensive tackle
Team: Vapor Carbon
Ht.: 6-4 Wt.: 285
High school: Scotch Plains-Fanwood (N.J.) High

Recruiting Situation: Gary holds plenty of offers, including ones from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, USC and Virginia Tech. The school he knows the best is Rutgers, where he began visiting as a seventh grader and has been to campus more than a dozen times.

Scouting Report: Speed, power, agility, acceleration, strength …yeah, Gary has it all. He can be unblockable, has several moves at his disposal, including a vicious rip, and can flat out win the strength battle. This will be the best competition he faces, but he should do more than hold his own because he is already able to physically matchup with anyone.

At Stake: There are two class of 2016 prospects in The Opening 2014, and Gary is one of them. He dominated the NFTC in North Jersey the last two years, and is a five-star prospect and the No. 5 player in the class. This is his chance to show the team what those in the northeast already saw. If he performs well, Gary could become the talk of The Opening and make a run for being the No. 1 player in the class.
