The Opening: Previewing Matthew Burrell is profiling each member from the East Region heading to The Opening this week at Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and in this installment we look at uncommitted offensive lineman Matthew Burrell.

Matthew Burrell

Position: Offensive guard
Team: Apocalypse
Ht.: 6-5 Wt.: 305
High school: Woodbridge (Va. (C.D.) Hylton

Recruiting Situation: The SEC is heavily in play for Burrell as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU and Georgia are all on his radar, as are Clemson, Florida State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Penn State and others.

Scouting Report: Burrell fires off the football and is relentless at the point of attack. He is very strong and plays with good leverage. Along with his strength, Burrell is extremely athletic and gets to the second level of the defense with ease. He plays very hard and does a nice job finishing his blocks.—Michael Clark, recruiting analyst

At Stake: Burrell is already highly rated as the No. 4 offensive guard and No. 60 overall prospect in the 2015 class, so a big jump is not realistic. However, since he is already high on the board, he could move up a slot or two at his position with a good performance, and also may have to hold off a few other players trying to jump ahead of him. There isn’t much room for movement, but any movement will be meaningful.
