The Opening: Previewing Quarvez Boulware is profiling each member from the East Region heading to The Opening this week at Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and in this installment we look at uncommitted offensive lineman Quarvez Boulware.

Quarvez Boulware

Position: Offensive guard
Team: Mach Speed
Ht.: 6-4 Wt.: 275
High school: Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate

Recruiting Situation: Boulware remains open in his recruitment as he looks at making a bunch of visits prior to the start of his camp, and that comes after visits already made to North Carolina, Duke, Maryland, North Carolina State, Penn State, Miami and Wake Forest. He wants to see Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida and Florida State, but if Penn state were to offer, it could end his recrutiment.

Scouting Report: Boulware plays left tackle at FCA but will likely move inside in college. He is powerful and does a good job staying on his block and moving the defender back. He is athletic and dos a good job with his initial thrust, and he has the ability to pull. He is solid in pass protection, but he needs to move his feet. Also, adding a bit more flexibility in his lower body will improve his performance greatly.

At Stake: The line of scrimmage can be a proving ground at The Opening because both sides of the ball will wear shoulder pads, helmets and shorts during a portion of the drills, which make them more realistic. If Boulware can be dominant against strong competition, his ranking can get a nice boost.
