Malik Jefferson, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound outside linebacker from Mesquite (Texas) Poteet has yet to narrow down his list, but because of time things are starting to take shape.
Still he has his eyes on all programs in-state.
"All the in-state schools," Jefferson said when asked about his list. "Everybody has still been hitting me hard no matter what and I still do not have a Top Ten or an official list."
He has already scheduled official trips to UCLA, Stanford and Ohio State. What was it about those programs that caught his eye?
"You have just got to find the right fit and I already see potential in their programs to make me a better person and a better player. I just want to give them a chance and see if that is the spot for me."
He is still mulling over his options for his final two stops.
"I am not exactly sure," Jefferson said when asked about his last two official visits. "Alabama maybe. USC and maybe Oregon and Notre Dame as well. Other than that I don’t really know."
Texas A&M is a school in-state that has been picking up steam on the recruiting trail, forming the Scout.com current No. 2 class.
Those commits are all over Jefferson to join them in College Station, most certainly two in particular.
"I have to say it is a tie between Daylon (Mack) and Kyler (Murray). Because they have both been hitting me since day one and they have been telling me the truth the whole time. They always want to be by me and here what I have to say."
Jefferson had planned to attend the Texas camp on the night of July 18, but it does not look like he will get that opportunity to go to Austin.
"I am not sure if I am going to be able to go because I have plans with my brother, it is his birthday. The staff relationship has been going real well. It has been a lot of fun."
