The Opening: Kris Boyd

BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Scout catches up with the four-star cornerback at the prestigious event...

Kris Boyd, a 6-foot-0, 190-pound cornerback from Gilmer (Texas) High added a huge offer when the in-state Aggies from Texas A&M came calling.

"It was an offer I was waiting on so it meant a lot," Boyd informed.

"I had to really think about it and I had to go home and think about all of the offers I had and give a fair shot to the rest of them."

"I know most people ask me since that is the offer I wanted why have I not made my decision, but then again I also wanted an offer from Texas and they offered me too," Boyd continued.

"So I am really just weighing things out. I am just going through the motions to see if that is what I want."

Boyd recently tripped to Tallahassee, Fla. to work out at a Florida State camp.

"I loved the trip, because I had never really visited a school that far," Boyd said.

"It was a great experience. They have a lot to offer me. The coaches took good care of me. The players took me and. It was real warm down there (feeling) and you could tell that it is a good team and I can see why they won the national championship."

It may come down to a battle between the three schools already mentioned in this article (Texas A&M, Texas, FSU), but UT has been working an interesting angle.

"With the new UT staff I have a good relationship and they are also building a good relationship with my younger brother (Demarco Boyd) and most colleges don’t know that when they also recruit me that they also have to recruit him too and that is what Texas has been doing," Boyd reported.
