Baylor gets #3 for 2016

The Bears secured the talents of one of the best running backs in the nation and a Top-15 Midlands prospect.

On Tuesday morning, 4-star running back Kameron Martin tweeted out that he had committed to Art Briles and the Baylor Bears. Well, Martin tweeted out a simple message saying "Just committed to Baylor #RBU". He is 7th ranked running back in the 2016 class currently, and the 12th overall prospect in the Midlands Region. The Junior from Port Arthur, TX is the third commitment for the Bears for 2016 joining Zach Smith and KeShawn Somerville.

Martin is teammates with Baylor prospect Corey Dauphine, who tweeted out his congratulations to his talented younger teammate, saying "S/o to my lil bro @TeamKamMartin on his commitment to Baylor ????????." Both are 4-star recruits that the Bears would love to keep as teammates.

National Recruiting Analyst Greg Powers recently wrote about Martin in his Top Underclassmen article for the Houston NFTC Camp, saying “Martin is a great all-around talent. He looks the part and was up there at the top of all the running backs in attendance.” In April, Powers also did a recruiting focus on the star 2016 running back, saying that “He seems perfectly suited to play out of a spread em out style of offense, and I would liken him to a younger DeMarco Murray, possibly at the same stage of development.”

Martin is 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, and ran for 1,047 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2013 for Port Arthur Memorial High School. Keep checking back with as we learn more about Martin’s commitment.
