Frank Buncom is one of the more versatile players out West with the ability to play corner, safety and receiver in college. He played primarily corner in Oregon but saw some time at receiver when a few other pass catchers went out with an injury.
"The whole experience was incredibly humbling," Buncom said. "You have all these great players from all over the country coming together in one place. In our own towns, we're used to being 'the guy' and out here, everyone is good.
"Overall, I was really happy with my performance. No one caught a ball on me and I had some pass deflections and caught a few balls too. We had a great team and won the whole tournament so overall, I loved the experience."
On the recruiting front, Buncom said he's very close to making a cut to his sizable list of schools.
"I want to do that in the next week or so," Buncom said. "I want to get down to five or seven schools to make it easier on me and also let the other schools recruit other players so they don't have to waste their time on me.
"Right now, I know Stanford and Vanderbilt will be two schools who will for sure make my final five. Both have great football and academics so I like them both a lot. I've been to both schools already and liked them a lot. I actually visited Vandy on a non-football visit and stayed in the dorms so that was cool. I'm not sure when I'll commit, probably close to Signing Day and definitely after my season. I want to take at least three, I don't know if I'll do all five but I think I'll get to three for sure."
