Two tied on top for Yulee

Jaquan Yulee is one of the most sought-after 2016 prospects in the country. The 2016 four-star Suffolk (Va.) Lakeland middle linebacker spoke with Scout.com about his recruitment, future and more.

“I have offers from Clemson, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, ECU, Old Dominion, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Temple, Hampton and Morgan State,” said Jaquan Yulee. “NC State and Florida State are the other main schools recruiting me. Out of all the schools, UNC is recruiting me the hardest, though.”

He will take his first college visit of the summer next week.

“I’m going to North Carolina’s camp on July 25,” said the 6-foot-1, 258-pound Yulee. "I was supposed to go to the Freak Show a few weeks ago, but I had something come up, so I couldn’t make it.

”I’m looking forward to the camp. I’m looking forward to being around the coaches and learning new things and just getting better.”

Although Yulee is in no hurry to make a decision, two schools have separated themselves at this point.

“North Carolina and Clemson are tied at the top,” he said. “At North Carolina, I feel like I’m at home there and the coaching staff has a lot of energy and keeps me motivated. Clemson – Tahj Boyd’s from this area and when he went down there they showed him a lot of love. The coaches are also friendly and they have a good program.”

Yulee said Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and East Carolina are right behind those two schools.

He has already thought about where he wants to see games this fall.

“I know my dad and I are going to some UNC games,” Yulee said. “I’d also like to go to check out games at Clemson, Notre Dame and East Carolina.”

Last season, Yulee had 89 tackles, three sacks and an interception.
