he Missouri Tigers continue in their efforts to try to add quality along their offensive line in this recruiting class. Recently, ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Missouri offer and 2015 OT prospect Tyler Howell 6’9” 305 El Dorado (KS) Butler Community College about his interest in Missouri. He talked about his Missouri offer, and he updated us on the current status of his recruitment.
Howell played his high school ball at Bonner Springs (KS), and I think it’s fair to describe the talented OT prospect as a late bloomer. And at a time when college programs like Missouri are searching for mid-year grads from the JUCO ranks, he’s on pace to graduate in May. Yet, the Tigers thought enough of this young man’s talent and potential to extend a scholarship offer to him this spring.
“The Missouri offer was definitely humbling,” said Howell, who identified Missouri assistant coach Josh Henson as his primary recruiter. “I appreciated it. I thought it was pretty big time.”
"Missouri has been in the SEC for such a little time to have had the success that they've had," explained Howell.
Howell will have three years to play two beginning in 2015. He said that he’s not very far along toward making a decision. It's early in his recruitment.
"I'm not even starting to narrow things down," said Howell.
He plans to take official visits later this year, probably after the season, and make a decision after that.
