Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes four-star defensive end Benning Potoae is focusing on a trio of Pac-12 schools as his senior season approaches.
Potoae was one of a handful of representatives at the USA Football Media Day at the Seattle Seahawks' practice facility in Renton, and said during the press conference that he's only committed to one school right now. "I'm committed to Lakes High School right now," said Potoae.
Later, Potoae said that that's because he's focused on his final season.
"We've been down by Lakes standards last couple years so I'm only worrying about Lakes Lancers football right now," said Potoae. "I'll worry about committing somewhere else later."
Still, Potoae talked about the top three schools he's favoring.
"Washington is close to home, and Coach (Chris) Petersen and Coach K (Pete Kwiatkowski) are good men and good coaches," said Potoae. "Coach (Jim) Mora and Coach (Mike) Tuiasosopo at UCLA are good men too and I really like them as coaches. Oregon is a great program and the coaches there are real cool."
Potoae said he plans to set his official visits soon.
"I don't know if I'll take them during the season or after the season, but I want to take those three trips for sure," said Potoae. "I'm going to do that soon so I can worry about my team."
Potoae said no school has emerged as a leader yet.
"They're all even right now," said Potoae.
