Kraemer Gives Latest

Having recently agreed to play in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl makes Tommy Kraemer one of the top prospects in the country. The Ohio native trimmed his list down to five schools in mid June but has recently seen interest from another program that has him thinking.

With plenty of time in front of him, Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder junior offensive lineman Tommy Kraemer saw enough early recruiting interest to trim his list of schools down to Ohio State, Boston College, Notre Dame, Duke and Northwestern just a month ago.

However, just when Kraemer took a week off to visit Wyoming for a youth retreat, another program worked to get in contact with him.

“I got back from the retreat and learned that Michigan wanted to talk with me,” said Kraemer. “I’ve talked with Coach (Mark) Smith and Coach (Darrell) Funk and they want me to visit this week. However, we started camp on Friday, so that is not going to happen as I can’t miss that.”

What have the Wolverines said about extending a scholarship offer?

“They said they are really interested and want me to visit,” he said. “They said they will offer me when I visit, but they have to get me up there so they can meet my family and everything. So we’ll see if I ever have an opportunity to get up there anytime soon.”

Could a visit come prior to the start of his season?

“No, I’m not doing anymore visits this summer,” he continued. “I’ve talked with my dad and we’ll see about visiting maybe once our season starts for a game. I’ve also talked with Liam Eichenberg from Cleveland St. Ignatius and I know his top three is Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan.

“So if Michigan is in there they must be doing something right. So I hope to check them out as I’ve heard other people like it and will want to see it for myself.”

One thing Kraemer is excited about is the start of the season. While the Panthers will face a tough schedule, excitement is in the air.

“I’m pumped,” Kraemer said. “Friday was the first day and it was awesome getting back on the field with the guys and getting after it again. I was really excited and with Peyton Ramsey back at quarterback and some good receivers and a decent offensive line and good defense, we should be good.

“It will also be good to see some young guys step up and get some experience for the future. But I’m really excited about this year as I think we’re going to be good.”
