Heinrich Visits, Camps With Gophers

Urbandale (Ia.) class of 2016 offensive lineman Jake Heinrich is a young prospect who stood out at Minnesota's camp. He talks about the Gophers' interest in him here.

Urbandale High's Jake Heinrich was part of a strong group of young offensive linemen who attended Minnesota's camp on Sunday.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Heinrich, a Scout 300 member, says he felt he had a good performance.

"I had a pancake in run blocking, one in pass blocking and I stoned my guy in the final four for pass blocking (five one on ones total)," he said. "We also tested bench reps with 225 and I had the most for a junior with 19."

It was also an opportunity for Heinrich to see the school, the campus, and speak more with the coaching staff.

"Overall I think I did very well and I had fun. We toured the football practice facilities before and saw the locker room after camp. They said they'd love to have me at junior day and up for a couple of games."

Currently with an offer from Iowa State, Heinrich hopes one comes from the Gophers in time.

"No offer, not yet, but they said they will be sending plenty of mail come September 1st."

Next for Henrich, he says, will be Iowa's BBQ this coming weekend.
