Rising senior quarterback Demry Croft is a prospect that rose up recruiting boards quickly from Rockford (Ill.) Boylan Catholic. He's 6-foot-5, 185 pound prospect who committed to Minnesota after a camp offer from the Gophers.
Over the weekend, Croft took a visit up for the Gopher's BBQ and was able to get to see more of campus.
"We flew in and checked into our hotel, and then went to campus," Croft said. "I got to campus and talked to Coach Kill for a little while then watched the camp that they had going on."
Croft also got the chance to connect with athletes that are considering Minnesota, and start to get to know them.
"I talked to some of the recruits up there Breck, Nick and Quinn the most," Croft said. "Trying to get Breck and Quinn on board, I also talked with John Femi-Cole from Canada, he was a great guy."
He added, "We toured dorms together and then the other guys I was hanging out with then we went to eat."
Overall, the visit was one that Croft won't soon forget.
"It was so good and the visit was great along with meeting and chatting with future teammates," Croft said.
It wasn't just about meeting other people though, Croft did make some discoveries of his own about his college of choice.
"That what I want to major in, business, some of the professors are CEO's of major companies," Croft said. "And for the cold weather they have underground tunnels that can lead you to classes."
In the meantime, Croft is focusing on his senior season and making connections with his potential teammates.
"I am just adding them on twitter and creating a bond with them and meeting them in person," Croft said.
