Chester (Va) Thomas Dale 2015 defensive tackle Darvin Taylor II is getting ready to make one of the biggest decisions of his life. Taylor plans on making his commitment on August 28th to one of these eight schools: Florida State, Maryland, Clemson, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, or Alabama.
Florida State is a team Taylor II has been high on since the beginning and that starts with defensive line coach Odell Haggins. He was very candid about the longtime Seminole coach.
“Coach Haggins is a great coach and more like a father figure. He’s not someone who is going to blow smoke up my butt.”
Coach Haggins isn’t the only thing that attracts Taylor II to Florida State.
“I like just about everything, the coaches, players, and the facilities.”
Taylor II has visited Florida State and was able to spend some time with the players.
“I got to ask some questions [to the players]. I asked about the girls, how [the players] like Florida State, and why they chose FSU.”
Taylor II is trying to take a visit to Alabama before he makes his commitment, but he isn’t sure whether that is going to happen. The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Taylor is the 20th ranked defensive tackle in the 2015 class and is rated the No. 231 prospect in the 2015 Scout 300.
