Nick Jones Profile

Guiding one of the most powerful offenses in the state last season 2015 South Florence quarterback Nick Jones has early suitors who are taking an interest in him. We caught up with the 6'0 208 pound prospect as he talked about his recruitment and what schools he would like to hear more from as his senior season nears.

"Right now I'm hearing from East Carolina, North Carolina State, The Citadel, Missouri, Arizona, Charleston Southern, and Coastal Carolina."

We asked Jones which of those schools he'd say is showing him the most interest right now and he said, "East Carolina, The Citadel, and Charleston Southern."

Jones says he's camped with The Citadel and he felt like he did well for the Bulldogs but he wanted to have a better 40 time while there.

The 2015 prospect says he's still awaiting his first scholarship and he feels like possibly one of the in-state schools may be the first to do so.

"The Citadel might be my first I think."

"Most coaches are saying they want to see my first couple of games from my senior season so I know know how big those first few games are going to be for me."

Jones put up some strong numbers last season for his team. He recalled them for us.

"I was 220-377 for 2,760 yards and 37 touchdowns. I also had 370 yards rushing and 13 rushing touchdowns."

Currently Jones says he feels his leadership and ability to make any throw on the field are his biggest strengths right now.

"I want to work on my crossing passes, improvement of my footwork, and my speed."

Moving forward Jones says he'd love to hear more from East Carolina, NC State, The Citadel, and Charleston Southern.
