DFW Weekly Recruiting Notebook

Scout.com recaps another busy week of commitments from July 21-27 in the DFW Metroplex.

Commitments in the 2015 class continue to pop up in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The past week saw at least five FBS-level commitments, all of which came from 2015 prospects.

Monday (July 21) saw a pair of Metroplex commitments from DeSoto defensive tackle Bryce English (pictured above) and Keller Central cornerback Taylor Robinson.

English, who was an ex-Texas commit who decommitted in the spring from the Longhorns, chose to commit to UCLA, picking the Bruins over fellow finalists Arizona State, Arkansas, and TCU. The 5-foot-11, 315-pound English, a three-star prospect rated by Scout.com as nation's No. 32 defensive tackle in the 2015 cycle, has a total of 11 FBS offers.

Robinson also committed this past Monday, choosing to pledge to North Texas, which is his only FBS offer so far.

This past Tuesday brought the commitment of Devine Ozigbo. The Sachse running back, who has accumulated about two dozen offers during the past few months, announced via Twitter that he had chosen Iowa State over fellow finalists Boise State and Iowa.

The 5-foot-11, 230-pound Ozigbo is a three-star prospect who also holds offers from schools such as Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, Mississippi State, Utah, Vanderbilt, and Wisconsin, among others.

Oklahoma landed Burleson three-star defensive end Kenneth Mann on Wednesday when SoonersIllustrated.com reported the news of his commitment during an unofficial visit to Norman. Mann, who has about 20 offers, is a 6-foot-4, 260-pound prospect who fits the profile of Oklahoma's odd-front end well.

Mann has other offers from schools such as California, Iowa, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State, among others.

Texas A&M got its latest commitment this past Friday from Ennis defensive end James Lockhart, a four-star prospect who Scout ranks as the state's top defensive end in the 2015 class. The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder has about two dozen offers and wound up choosing the Aggies over a list that includes Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Texas, among others.

Scout tracked down several offers that occurred during the past week as well:

DeAndre McNeal, 2015 OLB/ATH, Mesquite Poteet -- the four-star prospect got offers from Auburn and Oklahoma, pushing his list closer to 30 schools.

Brandon Stephens, 2016 RB, Plano -- the underclassman tailback reported this past Tuesday that he received an Ohio State offer, which joins Wisconsin on his list.

Kobe Idumwonyi, 2015 TE/H, Cedar Hill -- the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder got a mid-week offer from Texas State, according to the Cedar Hill staff. Idumwonyi already had a Louisiana-Monroe offer.

Dee Anderson, 2016 WR, West Mesquite -- Anderson, already a Scout four-star, has almost reached double digits following an LSU offer this past Thursday, when he attended the Tigers' camp.Obi Eboh, 2016 CB, Southlake Carroll -- Eboh reported his second offer from Duke, which joins Rice on his early list.

Chris Robison, 2017 QB, Mesquite Horn -- Robison got his first offer late in the week from TCU.

O'Shea Jackson, 2015 DT, Arlington Martin -- the two-way player got offered Friday by Colorado State, his first FBS offer.

Clarence Henderson, 2016 OL, Dallas Skyline -- the second offer arrived for Friday for Henderson, who added an Arizona State offer to his UCLA offer.

Anthony Hines, 2017 LB, Plano East -- Hines continues to compile a staggering offer list that stands at almost 50 offers. The latest trio came over the weekend from Boston College, Duke, and Virginia.
