Houshun Gaines Loves Gator Family

Houshun Gaines is a three-star defensive end from Rocky Mount (NC) Nash Central High School. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end has offers from big time programs including Florida, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia, North Carolina State, Miami, Duke, and Boston College.

Numerous players attended Friday Night Lights in the Swamp, one of which was out-of-state defensive end Houshun Gaines. Gaines is glad he made the trip from North Carolina and walked away impressed with what he saw.

"I love the Gator family," Gaines said. "I loved everything about my visit. It was everything I thought it would be honestly."

The entire night went according to plan, but one particular experience stood out above the rest.

"The best part was after my tour, and I finally walked through the tunnel," Gaines said. "I fell in love."

Gaines was very comfortable around the coaching staff.

"Our conversations were great," Gaines said. "It felt like we had already known each other and talked on a daily basis. We talked about Florida in general, football, how I would fit perfectly in their defense and how I could thrive there."

The two teams recruiting Gaines the most are Florida and North Carolina State.
