Ball State Lands Michigan LB

Ball State added its 13th verbal commitment for the Class of 2015 from an athletic and hard hitting LB from Michigan.

Ball State picked up a big time commitment on Thursday when 6-2 206 LB Abdallah Jaffal verbally committed to the Cardinals. The announcement came via Twitter.

” The campus tour was outstanding,” Jaffal said when asked why he chose Ball State. “Getting to see the academics and how close everything is! Also it's a great program and I felt I would fit in well.”

Jaffal, from Dearborn (MI) powerhouse Fordson High, chose the Cardinals over an offer from Western Michigan, and the attention of a few other programs.

” I had one from Western.” Jaffal said. “And that's the only other one. Michigan State has been in contact along with Akron, Cincinnati and Purdue.”

Jaffal is a physical player who moves very well and excels making plays from sideline to sideline. When asked about what he feels his strengths are, he was quick to point out a few that will have Ball State fans salivating.

” I'm physical, athletic, light on my feet,” Jaffal said. “I have Great instincts. I like to hit and don't shy away from contact.”

With his decision out of the way, Jaffal can now focus solely on his senior season, one in which he hopes will end in a championship for his team.

” I'm trying to lead the state in tackles and lead my team to a state championship,” he said. “We have a lot of talent and depth, we just need leaders.”
