Dawgs Gear Up for August

ATHENS - August could be a big month for Georgia's 2015 recruiting class.

Darius Slayton may commit in the next few weeks - maybe even next week. Slayton may have a school in mind, and that school could surface fairly soon. Georgia is recruiting Slayton as an athlete, but there's a good chance he could be a receiver at the next level

Georgia now has three offensive line commits in its 2015 class (Pat Allen, Sage Hardin and Devondre Seymour). Consequently, it would be tough for both Emanuel McGirt and Connor Williams to be Bulldogs in the future. Scout National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons says it's more likely McGirt is a Dawgs when all is said and done.

A lot of these commits could happen in the next month. Trenton Thompson is set to announce on August 12 and Jayson Stanley has his announcement date set for the 16. Those could play out in Georgia's favor. Micah Abernathy and McGirt could also commit any day now. August will be crucial for the Dawgs.

Jeremy Pruitt likes Deandre Baker - a lot. But he'll have to keep an eye on Texas. The Longhorns offered Baker, a cornerback prospect out of Miami Northwestern.

Finally, Scout 300 RB/ATH Nyheim Hines is set to visit Athens this week. We'll see how interested Hines and Georgia are in each other after this visit.
