Brightwell Talking To Three Most Frequently

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic outside linebacker Saleem Brightwell is remaining patient in recruiting, and speaking to three schools the most.

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic outside linebacker Saleem Brightwell said he is speaking to three schools the most, but a pair of schools closer to home are also keeping tabs on him.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Brightwell is also trying make unofficial visits either later this month, or use official visits during the season in aiding in his decision.

“I’m talking to Pittsburgh, Michigan State and Nebraska” Brightwell said. “I visited Michigan State (in the spring) and I’m trying to visit Michigan State sometime this summer.”

He added Rutgers and Syracuse continue to show interest as well.

“I would say they’re in the mix, too,” Brightwell said.

However, the school Brightwell knows the most about may be Michigan State. He visited campus during the spring, and liked what he saw inside the program.

“They’re telling me to make the right decision and pick a college that fits you,” Brightwell said. “I like that they’re very family oriented and the coaches are down to earth. They believe in their players, from that I’ve seen.”

Long on Brightwell’s list to visit is Pittsburgh, but getting to the campus has proven difficult. But the staff continues to push for a visit, and he said it is one he wants to make.

“They’re telling me they like my film, they like how I play,” he said. “They talk to me a lot. I’ve been trying to visit and they said they are going to talk to me about everything when I go out there. “

Nebraska is another school Brightwell wants to see in the fall.

“I would like to check them out because it’s a real good school, from that I hear,” he said. “They’re definitely a place I’d like to see.”
