Johnathan Abram is a two-star safety with interest from some big time programs across the southeast.
"Overall the process is kind of slow, but it's going good," Abram said. "I just love the experience and the love everyone shows me. Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Florida State, Georgia and Alabama have recently come into the picture."
The recruiting process can be a long and tiresome experience for most families, but it does create a peace of mind.
"It's just a blessing to have these schools recruit me, and it helps my mom relax because she doesn't have to worry about paying for my college."
Abram can play a number of positions and even played quarterback for East Marion. He is coming off an impressive 2013 season with 1,826 yards passing and 1,300 rushing yards accounting for 41 total touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Abram totaled 88 tackles and five interceptions.
"I am very physical and strong," Abram said. "I have 4.4 speed but I have to work on my footwork and flipping my hips. I have been to Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia and Ole Miss."
His most recent trip was to Athens to check out the University of Georgia, and he walked away impressed.
"Just being with the coaches and players," Abram said.
