Big things are expected from Akron Hoban this season, and the Knights have a roster loaded with top underclassmen. Junior Jonah Morris is one of the top 2016 prospects in Ohio.
Morris, 6-foot-4, 190-pounds, impressed as a safety last season, but will also play wide receiver this year. He has added 15 pounds over the off season, and is also faster.
"I've added weight and strength, and I'm a better player this year over where I was last year as a sophomore," Morris stated. "I'm going to play both ways this season, and I'm excited for that. I just love playing football, so I don't care what position I play."
"My speed is a lot better, and I'm a team player," he added. "My speed coach timed me at a 4.4 recently, and I ran 4.5 at Ohio State's camp this summer. I'm still working on getting stronger in the weight room."
Although he holds no offers at this time, Morris figures to be a heavily recruited player going forward.
"I don't have any offers, but I'm hearing from Ohio State, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Miami of Florida, and a lot of the MAC schools," he explained. "The only camp I went to this year was Ohio State, and it was great."
"I don't really have a favorite school, and I'd be honored to have an offer from anyone," he continued. "I'm just looking to have the opportunity to play at the next level. I think my best position might be as a wide receiver at the college level."
