Jahque Alleyne has had a successful summer filled with offers. The talented 3-star standout from Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Va. now has 11 total offers to his name. Despite bigger programs joining the mix, ECU has found itself in Alleyne’s top schools.
Oregon, Louisville, Virginia Tech, ECU, Kentucky and Virginia were named Alleyne’s top six schools back in July and as of right now he has no changes to that. The fall will be an important time for his recruitment and ECU is a school that may receive some more attention.
“ECU is somewhere I’m thinking about,” said the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Alleyne. “I have a few teammates there right now and I’m just really trying to get out there. I didn't visit this summer, but I’m trying to get out there for a game this fall.”
The former teammates Alleyne is talking about are outside linebacker Massadiq Walton and nose tackle Demetri McGill. Both arrived at ECU in the last two years and each may play a role in Alleyne’s eventual decision.
As far as when that decision will happen is completely up to Alleyne – and he has his mind set. Don’t expect him to choose a school until the middle or end of November.
The thing weighing heaviest on this talented recruits’ mind at the moment is his upcoming senior season at Ocean Lakes. It’s been a long summer of working out and Alleyne is confident he will impress coaches this season and that his team will have success.
“This season is about going all out for a state championship or nothing,” said Alleyne. “I might even get more offers after this season because you won't see the same player that you saw last year on the field.”
